19 Pound Gain, Easiest Pregnancy
By Crissy
I was due on Dec. 8, 1995. From the time I found out I was expecting, I
was fine: no sickness, weight gain, or any problems. Didn't start showing
until I was six and a half months pregnant. Once I started showing, it seemed
like my pregnancy was over. I had my baby shower on Nov. 5, 1995. What I
didn't know was my baby was coming in two more days --one month and one day
before
my due date. At that time I had gained only 19 pounds. I was 100 pounds at
the start and in November I was 119 pounds.
On Nov. 7, 1995, I woke up about 8:00 a.m. thinking I wet myself and my bed, got up, washed myself off, changed underwear and went to put my leg up to crawl back into bed and I felt a gush. I thought to myself, That was not me, so I called my mom, the doctor, and my boyfriend. The doctor told me to come on in to get checked out, so I did.
As soon as I got there they checked me and told me to go straight up to the hospital. They were waiting to find out if indeed my water had broke. So I got to the hospital at about 11:00 a.m., walked in, and got to my room. They hooked monitors all over me, and said I was having very hard contractions but, I wasn't feeling them.
I was dilated 2 centimeters. At 7:00 p.m. after walking around the hospital floor all day to start my labor (which didn't work) they finally induced me.
I still didn't start feeling the contractions until 8:30 p.m., and by that time I was dilated 10 centimeters. I got up on the bed, they threw my legs over the railings of the bed and told me to push. I pushed maybe three to four times and out came my beautiful baby girl -- Alexis Nicole, 5 pounds, 10 ounces. No cutting, hemorrhoids, anything. I didn't even take one single Tylenol!
I got out of the hospital on Thursday, Nov. 9, and went to work the following day, Friday, Nov. 10. I was able to fit into my size 3 jeans in a week. I had it so easy with the labor and the baby. She didn't do anything but sleep, and I had to wake her up every 3 hours to feed her. She hardly cried at all. I just hope my next experience is as good as this one. I am due with my second one on July 11, 1999. Wish me luck!!!!!!! I'll probably need it.
