Jordan Is Here: 2 Pounds, 5 Ounces
By Kelly
While in New Orleans for a family problem (I live in Houston and was only 28 weeks), I woke up on March 8, 2003, at 9:30 a.m. I was spotting, so I said I needed to go to the hospital. We were going to go back to Houston, but on the way to the hospital to told my brother Bye.
At 11:08 a.m., I began having little contractions that were six minutes apart. So I stopped at the emergency room, and I was checked and I was 4 centimeters dilated. Then they said no time for IVs and to take me upstairs.
I went upstairs, and within 30 minutes, I was checked again and I was 8 centimeters dilated. Then my water was broken, and I went down to 5 centimeters within 10 minutes.
The neonatologist was talking to me about procedures and what to expect with the baby, and I yelled, I am about to push. Three pushes later Jordan was here and screaming. He has been breathing on his own since birth.
Now at 2 weeks old he is 2 pounds, 10 ounces and waiting to come home.
