Seventeen-Year-Old Teen Mom Going Through Divorce
By Ashley Petree
Well it all started by meeting Michael at a wedding. Then a year later we hooked up. I ended up pregnant, and my mom, who had no right over me because she doesn't have custody, forced me to get married.
I was married for a month, then figured out I couldn't stand being around Michael. So I kicked him out of my grandma's house (who I live with) and went and stayed at my dad's for a month or so. I started dating one of my ex-boyfriends, David. I found out that every time we were together he was cheating on me.
That went on all the way through December 6, 2003. Then 22 days later my labor started at 3:30 p.m. and lasted all the way up to 11:02 a.m. December 29, 2003, when my little girl, Lacey, was born.
I took Stadol, then in the last two hours of labor I took the epidural. After sleeping two hours, I woke up and said I was feeling the contractions through the epidural. Then next thing I know I'm pushing and brought the most beautiful little girl into the big world.
Now I am going through a divorce and getting custody of my little girl.
