Overdue, Long Labor, Induced
By Tara
This was my first child. I was 18 years old at the time, so I thought it was going to be an easy labor. YA RIGHT!
My daughter was two weeks overdue and my doctor induced me. But that didn't really work because I was dilating really slow. I went to the hospital on Tuesday with labor pains but my water didn't break. On Wednesday, I was dilated to 2 centimeters. They induced me more and I tried walking and walking to hurry the labor. I tried to sleep but those contractions were 5-10 minutes apart. My husband was tired and my mom wasn't there half the time because we were in a middle of a snow and ice storm.
On Thursday morning around 10:25 a.m., I was dilated to 10 centimeters. FINALLY! So the delivery was easy and I wasn't yelling. At 10:39 a.m., I gave birth to a healthy baby girl. She was 7 pounds, 12 ounces. I was happy with my Baby Maria, and happy with support during 51 hours of labor from Daddy, my Mom and Gramma.
Note: I did all of this without any drugs.
