It was about a week before my due date. My husband went off to work as usual. I took my shower and felt some contractions. Thinking nothing of it, I continued with my day. I went to the store to pick up a few last-minute things I would need at the hospital.

Around 1:30 p.m. I realized I was in labor. My contractions suddenly went from about six and a half minutes apart to two minutes apart. I called my husband and told him he needed to get home right away because I was in labor and then my water broke.

The pain was so intense and I felt the need to push as hard as I could. At this point I was screaming and pushing as hard as I could and my husband walked in. He saw that Julie Anna was crowning and was able to easily deliver her and tell the doctor we were on our way.

Our beautiful daughter was 21 inches, 8 pounds, 1 ounce.
