To tell you the truth, I hate heights. But the fair comes once a year and, well, the Ferris wheel seemed cool.
I was 9 months pregnant and decided to go to the fair, with my friend Amy. Amy wanted to ride the Ferris wheel, so I joined her. After abut a few minutes of going around we got stuck! And with my luck on the top! While we were waiting there, I went into labor! Oh my God, I was up in the air on a Ferris wheel having a baby.
So I told Amy what had happened. She quickly notified people below but they couldn't do anything. OK, I thought, we are going to die! During the next 10 minutes which felt like hours I sat praying to God that we would move soon. Nothing happened. As the pain got worse I began to cry. Some way to have a baby.
During the 10 minutes we were up there the baby began to crown. As I held on for dear life, I pushed and pushed. Once the 9-pound, 5-ounce baby was done crowning the wheel was moving.
When we got to the bottom the ambulance was there and delivered my baby girl, Ginger. What a day. To this day I am afraid of heights.
