Car Birth

I'm 18 years old and I had my baby when I was 16 years old.

I found out I was pregnant after I hadn't had my period for two months since my boyfriend had moved and we had sex that night. So I had my friend buy me a home pregnancy test and when I took it that night it came out positive.

So the next day I told Kyle (my boyfriend) the news and he was surprised but he came out for the weekend and we told both of our parents. Our moms were furious and our dads were mad but they were OK.

So my mom and Kyle and I went to the doctor's and she told me I was 2 1/2 months pregnant. So I stayed in school and now that he was 18 he moved out here and with my parents' permission we got married. I stayed in school until I was 9 months pregnant. Then it was summer break.

At 4 a.m. two weeks before my due date I started to have contractions seven minutes apart, so I called my mom and she came over. Then we called the doctor and she said to come when they were at least two to three minutes apart to the hospital or if my water broke. So we waited until 3 p.m. the next day when my water broke and my contractions became less than a minute apart. My mom called the doctor to tell her what was going on and we were on our way.

It was 20 minutes to the hospital and we were stuck in traffic so it took longer. By the time we got to the hospital I felt the bad urge to push and couldn't stand up, so my mom ran to get some help while Kyle stayed with me. When they came back my doctor was with them.

My doctor told me I was going to have the baby in the car because the baby was right there. And with one good, big push David Anthony Jacuel was born June 22, 2000, at 3:34 weighing 9.7 pounds.
