Little Harrison Arrives

After five months of severe morning sickness with my first pregnancy, I was hospitalized three times and put on IV. I lost a total of 17 pounds before I started to gain any weight. I was due on September 12,1994,but Harrison had decided he was quite comfortable where he was so I ended up being induced on September 22,1994.

Labor began swiftly and the contractions were so strong they took my breath away. I was given some Demerol to take the edge off the pain; it helped very little. When I was 7 centimeters dilated I was given an epidural. This allowed me to sleep for one to two minutes between contractions.

After seven hours of labor, little Harrison was born. He weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces and he was perfect.

I went on to have two more sons and the morning sickness was not as severe.
