Princess Aryanna

Hi everyone. Here is our story.

I found out I was pregnant with Aryanna when I was 6 weeks along. The father decided that he did not want to be a part of her life, so that is why he is not mentioned in this story.

It was a fairly easy pregnancy and I only got sick a few times, but after 4 months I was good to go.

I just knew that I was going to be having a little boy, so when my mom and my sister and I went to my 24-week checkup to see the sex and the doctor told me that it was a little girl the only thing I could say was, How do you know? Stupid, I know, but that's all I could think of.

Fast forward about three more months. Aryanna was due August 10, 2005, but I knew she was going to be early. So it was no big surprise that at 5:30 in the morning on August 3, 2005, my water broke. Now the real fun begins.

I took a shower and got dressed. Then we went to the hospital. No big rush; I wasn't in any pain yet.

At around 9 a.m. they decided that if contractions wouldn't start by 11 a.m. then they would start the lovely Pitocin! That's exactly what happened. I got Pitocin and I was still doing good. Those contractions weren't that bad.

My aunt warned me that that wouldn't last for long. So by 3 p.m. I got that miracle drug, the epidural. Thank God for Dr. Lovely.

So everyone was in the room – my aunt, cousins, sister and mom. Can you believe they were bringing in food the whole time I was in labor? If you've been there, then you know it's not fun being in labor and hungry.

So 7:30 p.m. came and I was told I could push. That was a feeling. I never knew what they meant when they said you get an overwhelming feeling to push. I now know and it hurt like h#%^.

Finally at 8:58 p.m. Aryanna Joy was born weighing 7 pounds, 13 ounces and 19.5 inches.

Here we are two weeks later and she's already almost 9 pounds. She's growing so fast. I love her so much, it's amazing.

Thank you for reading our story. Got to go. Duty calls.
