I knew that I was going to have twins at 6 weeks of pregnancy when I had to go to the hospital for vaginal bleeding. From that moment on I prayed every day for them. Eventually, the bleeding stopped and I was put on bed rest and I was closely monitored.
About my 16th week I started have problems with my blood pressure. I was put on medication.
On my 26th week my babies were delivered by Cesarean section due to my blood pressure (super imposed hypertension). I was told if they didn't delivered them they would be stillborn. My daughter's weight was 1 pound, 4 ounces. My son's weight was 14 1/2 ounces.
It was extremely hard for me and my husband. Two weeks after they were born my son went for surgery twice to correct his intestine (NEC). My daughter is on a special ventilator because her lungs are extremely bad.
Now, 6 weeks after their birth, they are still fighting for their lives. They are making progress. They are gaining weight and getting stronger.
Word of advice for anyone going though something similar: Keep a positive attitude (I know it is hard) and keep on praying. God is good.
Your baby's labor and delivery is like no other in the world.
