Induced Labor; Epidural

My labor was very easy with really no complications. I went to the doctor the last Wednesday in September and the doctor told me that they had to induce my labor because I was 3 centimeters dilated and they said that I was passed the labor line and that they had to put me in the hospital that following Monday which was October 2. When I got to the hospital 5:30 that morning, they started the setup with the IV and everything. I was crying -- panicking -- because I was real scared of needles. The nurse went to jug the needle in me and I stopped crying and said that's it. I was shamed because all my family was in the room. They did my pelvic exam and I was 4 centimeters.

Before I got the epidural I had contractions but my contractions were just pressure of the baby -- which weren't bad. Then when I got 5 centimeters I just went on ahead and got my epidural because I had already paid for it. The epidural isn't as bad as everybody says. At 2:42 p.m. I had my baby girl. She was 6 pounds 3 ounces, and 19 5/8 inches long. Her head size was 13.5 inches. If you ask me the epidural is the best medication to get and the needle doesn't hurt. My baby's name is Alexeonna Nyshay Young.
