When my husband and I found out we were going to have a baby, we were shocked! We were not trying but we were so excited! My pregnancy went by perfectly. My due date was February 12, 2002.
A few days before that, I started feeling some liquid coming out of me. It wasn't much, so I thought it was pee! Anyway, on February 11, I woke up in the middle of the night, and my shorts were all wet. I still thought that I peed so I went on to work the next morning and called the doctor after I got there. He made me come in and sure enough, my water was leaking!
He induced labor that night on my due date. I was only dilated to 3 centimeters the next day at noon! I told my husband that if the contractions got any worse, I was going to get vocal! They gave me my epidural, and all of the sudden, everything felt weird. I couldn't see very good. All these doctors came rushing in and doing all kinds of stuff to me! My blood pressure had plunged so low they had to give me medicine to make my heart race and gave me oxygen!
I finally dilated to 10 at 5 p.m. I pushed for one hour, and my baby girl was born at 5:56 p.m.! She weighed 8 pounds, 0 ounces and was 20 inches long, and she was the picture of health! She is now 4 1/2 months old and weighs 18 pounds! She is huge! I can't wait to have another! For everyone who hasn't had their babies, labor was a piece of cake! I can't wait to do it again!
