I really don't remember what all happened, but one day I think she went to the doctor and her water had broken and the doctor didn't tell her and she sent her home. The same night she called my mom and said she was bleeding and needed to go to the hospital.
They were able to hold the baby off. She was in Iowa City and one night she called my mom and told her to come to the hospital. My mom went and stayed with her. My sister had had a sleeping pill so she was kind of out of it. In the middle of the night she woke up and her sheets were wet with blood. She called the nurse and the nurse came down.
I'm not really sure what happened after that. They had to do an emergency Cesarean section. My mom called me and told me I had a 1-pound, 1.5-ounce baby niece.
When I got to the hospital I went to see her and all I remember is that she was so tiny. She was on a feeding tube and oxygen. She came home in September of 2006.
She is now 11 months old and weighs about 12 pounds. She is still on oxygen but as happy as ever. She is truly my family's little miracle!
