Pre-eclampsia at 28 Weeks -- Born at 31 Weeks

I was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia at 28 weeks after having a great pregnancy for the first six months. My BP was 130/90 (not so high!) but my face was puffy and I went into the hospital with Aldomet medication. I was also given steroid shots for my baby's lungs to accelerate maturity. I spent three weeks there. My highest BP was 150/100.

After these three weeks they discovered I had lost almost all my amniotic fluid. My baby boy was delivered immediately via Cesarean. He was only 2 pounds, 15.2 ounces. He was in a ventilator for one week, had amniothorax tubes in his chest for one week and remained in the hospital for 34 days. At this time he is a healthy 18-month-old baby with not even a trace of prematurity. God lead our way.
