Airee's Journey

After a fairly normal pregnancy, I lost my water at exactly 26 weeks. I was rushed by ambulance to Lasalle General Hospital in Lasalle, Quebec. After an ultrasound they said I needed to be transferred to a hospital better equipped to deliver my very premature baby.

I stayed on bed rest for eight days at St. Justine Hospital in Cotes des Neiges Montreal. On the eighth day at night I started to have contractions about 12 minutes apart. My son Airee was born at 3:38 a.m. on March 25, 2009, weighing 1 pound, 15 ounces (890 grams) and 36.5 centimeters long. He needed no oxygen, just cpap for five days.

He is now 1 month old and weighing 3 pounds and doing very well!
