Wonderful Experience
I read all the Cesarean section stories out there as soon as I found out at 35 weeks that I would probably have to deliver Cesarean due to the baby being too big. Let me tell you, I was scared! In most of the stories all you read about is bad experiences or a horrible recovery, so needless to say I was a little shaken up.

Then at my 38-week appointment I found out that the baby had moved to a transverse position, and my doctor scheduled the C-section for the very next day! I left the doctor's office in tears, I was so afraid.

I went over to the hospital to do blood work and paperwork, the routine stuff I guess. Leaving from there I called my husband and told him the news. He, too, was a little scared I think. Anyway, I will get on with the story.

I went in the next day at 12:30 p.m. to get prepped for the surgery at 2:30 p.m. The nurses were great. They got me ready to go, and at 3 p.m. I was wheeled into the operating room. I was given my spinal and away they went. Before I knew it, Drayke was there.

Seeing him for the first time was amazing, even if I had him via C-section. I still carried him around for 9 months, and delivering that way didn't make me any less a woman!

Drayke weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces and was 20 inches long. He was adorable. The whole process took maybe 40 minutes. We then spent one hour in the recovery room. I was given Vicatin and Ibuprofen for the pain, but I didn't ever really feel any pain!

I slept comfortably that night, and in the morning the nurse came in and got me out of bed to walk around. It was hard at first, but I think it was really good for my recovery to get up ASAP and walk around. I took medication for the next two days, and on the third day I got to go home.

Having lots of help from my husband and family, I didn't have to take any medication once I got home. I felt great! I felt back to normal I would say in about two weeks.

Looking back, in hindsight I had a wonderful experience. My doctor was great. I think that is a huge part of the whole experience. My advice to any moms getting ready for a C-section is don't be worried; it's not as bad as most of the people on here claim. Get up and walk around as soon as they let you, even if it is hard. Push yourself to do it, and get lots of help. You'll need it! I am ready to have as many children as I am able to and had such a great C-section experience, I will probably have them all that way!

Your baby's labor and delivery is like no other in the world. Let others know what your experience was like.
