Born Sleeping

When I found out I was pregnant I was scared and also excited as I was only 19. I got no morning sickness at all. I had an ultrasound at 9 weeks and 5 days gestation. Everything was going smooth and great!

I had another ultrasound at 20 weeks gestation and found out we were having a little girl. We were so excited because that's what we were hoping for.

When I was 7 months pregnant I didn't feel the baby kick for at least two days and didn't think anything was happening. I just thought she was sleeping or too big to move. On July 10, 2008, my boyfriend took me to the hospital and asked if we could hear the baby's heartbeat for peace of mind. They got the machine out and couldn't find it. They said that "this machine is old and may not be working properly." They tried another machine and the worst thing I could ever hear was that the baby's heart had stopped. They took me to the ultrasound room to confirm it. It was true I had lost my little girl.

I didn't understand, as I had heard her heartbeat two days before she had died.

On July 11, 2008, I was admitted to the hospital and induced into labor. Fourteen hours later on July 12, 2008, at 10:57 a.m. I gave birth to my little girl. We named her Ryder Angel.

Her funeral was on July 25, 2008, the saddest day of my life. She went for a postmortem and they still couldn't find anything that went wrong. God just wanted a new angel and thought that she was too good for this earth.

She will be forever missed.
