I was due August 10, 2003, a picture-perfect pregnancy. Ultrasounds were great, the baby was healthy and we found out it was a boy. We bought little blue outfits and started dreaming of him.
The summer approached and it was very hot. The doctors said to drink a lot of water, and I did.
I had a strange feeling that weekend, and I had no idea why. I was 39 weeks pregnant and ever so excited to see Jon's face. I lay down on the couch and fell into a deep sleep, when I felt something wet, and I think the mucous plug came out. I called the doctor and he said to come in.
When we arrived, there was no heart beat. I was horrified and I believe I went into shock. They wanted me to deliver naturally since he was out of breech presentation. I said OK.
Twelve hours later by Pitocin, my angel arrived, in perfect condition, looking like his father. We wept and held him tight, and told him we loved him, that we'd see him again in heaven.
On July 2, 2004, his brother was born, healthy and 7 pounds, 10 ounces a strong little guy. Thank God.
