I had a pretty easy time until about the last two months. Since I had a Cesarean section with my son I was hurting pretty badly. It hurt to lie down so I woke up a lot at night with pain.
Then on November 4, 2005, I got up from bed to go to the bathroom. I just thought that I had to go No. 1. I felt some liquid slide down my leg and thought nothing of it and went back to sleep. When I woke back up (I had a doctor's appointment that morning) the liquid was still there somewhat, so I just stuck some washcloths in my pants and went to the doctor's. Needless to say, I was in labor.
Then the drama started. Come to find out I had heavy meconium. They put in an amnio infusion and put me on Pitocin. I labored for almost 12 hours until I asked for something for the pain. They gave me Stadol, which didn't help much.
I still hadn't dilated past 3 centimeters. I got an epidural and it was about 9 something when I got a fever. It wasn't until about 11 that they started talking about a C-section.
It was about 12 or so when I told the nurse to get the puke pan because I was going to throw up. After I stopped she said she wanted to check me one last time, since throwing up was a sign of transition. I was ready to start pushing.
After about 45 minutes of pushing I had my baby girl at 9 pounds, 8 ounces. The doctor said that this was the easiest VBAC that he had ever seen.
